The Sacrifice Board

How Quest difficulty is actually decided — and why levelling up alone won't get you past QL1.

The one thing to understand

Quest Level is not unlocked by playing. It is recalculated from scratch every time a Quest room starts, from two things only: your character level, and whatever is placed on the Sacrifice Board at that exact moment. There is no save file, no achievement, no "QL2 unlocked" flag on your account.

Placing the Sacrifice

The board has exactly two slots. For a Quest Level, only one combination works.

Anything in the second slot breaks it — even a second valid page. To reach QL2–QL5, the board only recognises exactly one page, alone, in a single slot. Two items, or the wrong item, and the room simply fails to start.

A party's level is its lowest member's level. If your group wants QL3, every player in the room needs to be level 25 or higher — one underlevelled player caps the whole party.

Boss Encounters

A different combination entirely — two specific items, placed together, instead of one page.

Bosses work differently: both slots get filled, with that boss's exact two items together — not one page with an empty slot. Mixing the two approaches (a page plus an item, or the wrong pair) fails silently and the room won't start.

Bosses only need character level 5+ (same as QL1) — the gate here isn't your level, it's owning both items at once. The Devil's Dictionary alone costs 80,000 Bounty from the shop, making Lich by far the most expensive boss to summon.
